An “Executor” is the individual chosen under a Last Will and Testament to act as the personal representative for a loved one who has passed away. In order to avoid personal liability, an Executor may wish to retain experienced and professional representation, thereby assuring that all legal requirements and responsibilities are fulfilled, such as:

  • Notice requirements
  • Mandatory income and death tax filing deadlines
  • Accounting requirements
  • Debt and creditor evaluation
  • Debt payment priorities
  • Child support search and withholding requirements
  • Estate close-out documents

If there is no Last Will and Testament, then further assistance may be required to determine the heirs, to obtain renunciations from next of kin, and to secure a fiduciary bond.
